This isn’t the Scholastic Book Fair you remember, and that’s because school isn’t what you remember. More than 398,000 students have experienced gun violence at school since Columbine in 1999. Yet instead of gun control, the answer to gun violence by conservative legislators has become arming teachers and designing schools to be shooter-proof. Scholastic calls into question the absurdity of accommodating for guns rather than enacting stricter gun laws by bulletproofing a beloved school memory.

We tease the Bulletproof Book Fair in a series of deceitfully cheery ads.

The Bulletproof Book Fair opens to all ages of the public. We enlist and arm real teachers to be part of the Teacher Security Agency that guards the entire event.

The Scholastic Bulletproof Book Fair shocks the world.

All guests go through the Teacher Security Agency checkpoints before entering. Each guest receives a bulletproof vest and helmet to safely roam the book fair at ease.

Other items available for purchase include: a tourniquet medical kit to stop severe bleeding, riot shield folders, riot shield character cutouts, smoke bomb firecrackers to use in case of attack, as well as ballistic glasses and earmuffs.

Every book available for purchase has a bulletproof, Kevlar cover.
